Today, in addition to over 1,000 square meters of office space and a showroom of 500 square meters, LEMI boasts a workforce of more than 60 employees and a production area of over 7,000 square meters, including two fully-equipped production facilities in Azzanello and Casalbuttano.

LEMI has pursued its environmental sustainability objectives for a number of years. In addition to equipping our premises with photovoltaic panels and LED lighting, it has set itself the goal of creating a scale of values that is not based exclusively on economic criteria. This means selecting new suppliers, adapting equipment and evaluating new materials to be as sustainable as possible.
Today, 70% of the company’s equipment and wooden treatment tables are made with FSC-certified lumber from protected forests. The mattress covers, which are free of synthetic dyes and toxic materials, are selected from suppliers who are committed to sustainable development, ensuring full compliance with the best environmental protection.
Lemi has never stopped, but has always tried to be improved in every aspect. He therefore identified in “lean production” a way to identify waste, eliminating it and producing more.
The next phase involves the creation of a flow of value that must become continuous and this is what LEMI did, radically intervening on production planning, creating a production system at the base of which there is a continuous interaction with the customer. This allows us to anticipate market demands by organizing production and minimizing waste of time and resources.
Specifically, LEMI has activated practical tools such as “Visual Management”: signage, shelving and blackboards in the production areas aimed at optimizing individual production activities. Shapes, symbols, arrows, all to classify paths and areas, making the behaviours to avoid or follow evident to anyone, thus creating the habit of optimally using the available space, keeping it tidy and clean and therefore safer.
Furthermore, LEMI has adopted another lean method, that of the 5 S (seiri, seiton, seiso, seiketsu, shitsuke) to reorganize work procedures fundamentally based on these 5 steps.
Starting from the elimination of superfluous work tools and the consequent organization of those strictly necessary, the environment is kept constantly clean and tidy. LEMI has made this process standard and is shared by all operators.
Without neglecting the Just in Time (JIT) method, which led to a speeding up of the production system and synchronization with the market.
This philosophy consists of minimizing stocks, increasing productivity and improving customer service. All in real time by drawing, as in the supermarket, from raw materials or finished products, based on a logic of traction linked to market demand.
The constant review of production procedures also reflects LEMI’s idea of improving itself, not only as a company, but as an environment for growth.

Since the beginning in 1989, the founders have been careful to organize production in the best possible way, avoiding waste of energy and resources. Over the years, LEMI has embarked on a company growth path that involves several aspects, such as the reorganization of production processes, the use of photovoltaic panels and LED lighting systems in the factory, the use by employees of a fully electric van for deliveries and assistance. These and many other choices are all aimed at improving the environmental impact, looking at clean energy consumption, creating a scale of value that is not based only on the economic criterion.
Sustainability also means selecting new suppliers, adapting the equipment and evaluating new materials. Market demands are moving towards an increasingly sustainable direction, starting from the raw materials to the internal structure, to the packaging up to the shipment of the product and we are called to respond to these needs by committing ourselves to offering solutions responding to such requests. For this reason LEMI has selected a range of NEW FINISHES, made with particular renewable raw materials such as recycled organic cotton. The aim is to replace as many components as possible with natural and renewable resources, without affecting the wear resistance and longevity of the products. The end result: over 80% of the components are now natural and renewable resources.
LEMI has always put the well-being of its employees first. In 2017 it institutionalized a large and bright DINING AREA, equipped with all necessary appliances. It is a space designed to offer the opportunity to have lunch in the company avoiding to stay in office or take one’s own means to go out for lunch. Straight to business improvement aimed at well-being, the already present GYM area has recently been renewed. Employees can enjoy high-quality gym equipment at the end of the working day, to set up a personal fitness plan according to their needs.
